Ottumwa – Today the Ottumwa Economic Development Corporation (OEDC) announced the selection of Sharon Stroh as the new Executive Director.
“Sharon Stroh will be a great asset to the Ottumwa community and we are confident she will hit the ground running,” said Greg Gardner, President of the Ottumwa Economic Development Corporation. “We are excited to find a candidate with Stroh’s experience and desire to support our community and business development efforts. Her knowledge, her enthusiasm and capacity for relationship building makes her an ideal candidate to lead OEDC.”
Stroh joins OEDC from her position as principal at SE Resources in Northeast Indiana, where she was providing independent consulting work that included project management, training/facilitation, strategic planning, non-profit board governance, and fund development. She has also been engaged in an economic development initiative focused on building community-owned fiber optic infrastructure for rural areas.
Prior to working at SE Resources, she spent 13 years as the CEO of the Steuben County Community Foundation, growing assets by 800% during her tenure. Under her leadership, the foundation earned its national and state accreditation for compliance with Ethical and Operational Standards. Stroh holds a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Stroh expressed optimism about her new position, “Ottumwa has demonstrated its commitment to economic development and I am looking forward to being a part of the team that will strengthen the local economy. There is great potential here.” she said.
A welcome reception will be scheduled in Sharon’s honor in the near future.
Stroh will begin her new duties on June 16.
