OHS’ Zingg, Burns Named All-Conference

The Ottumwa High girls and boys basketball teams each placed one player on the 2014 CIML Metro All-Conference 2nd teams.  Each Bulldog squad also had three players earn honorable mention.

For the OHS girls, sophomore forward Rachel Zingg earned 2nd team all-Metro honors.  Zingg led Ottumwa in scoring (8.2 points per game), and her 5.8 rebounds per game tied her for tops on the squad with junior Carissa Hite.  Hite, along with seniors Megan Black and Hayli Beeson, earned honorable mention.

As for the Bulldog boys, junior forward Carter Burns was named to the all-Metro 2nd team after leading OHS in both scoring (14.3 points per game) and rebounding (8.2 boards per game).  Fellow juniors Nic Young, Brok Hopwood and Andrew Altfillisch all earned honorable mention.
