Pittsburgh Husband Charged in Cyanide-Poisoning Death to Appear in Court Today

A University of Pittsburgh researcher accused of fatally poisoning his neurologist wife with cyanide will appear in a West Virginia court later today.

An extradition hearing will be held for Dr. Robert Ferrante, 64, who was taken into custody Thursday charged with one count of criminal homicide. Ferrante’s lawyer, William Difenderfer, says the allegations are false and that his client was on his way to turn himself into police in Pittsburgh when he was pulled over in West Virginia on the way back from Florida.
