Prep district baseball action across the state has already begun, but for three of the teams featured on the Ottumwa Radio Sports Network, the road to Principal Park gets underway Tuesday night.
In Keosauqua, Class 1A #3 Van Buren begins its quest for a second straight trip to state with a 7pm game at home on Tuesday against Harmony on 92.7 KTWA. As long as they keep winning, the Warriors would then play a home district semifinal on July 17, a district final in Danville on July 19, and a substate final in Washington on July 22.
Pekin is also a top district seed in Class 1A, and will play Tuesday at 7pm on 101.5 Kiss FM against either Sigourney or Keota (those two teams play Monday night). The Panthers hope to advance to a home district semifinal on July 17, a district final in New Sharon on July 19, and a substate final in Oskaloosa on July 22.
In Class 2A, Davis County plays Tuesday at 7pm on 104.3 KRKN against either Cardinal or Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (those two teams play Monday night). A win puts the Mustangs into a district final in Eddyville on July 19, and a win there means a substate final in Indianola on July 22.
