Ottumwa, Iowa – April 1, 2014 – Event submissions are being sought for inclusion in a brochure featuring activities occurring from June 1 through August 31, 2014 within Wapello County.
The listings are free and will be included in the brochure titled the Explore Ottumwa Event Calendar Summer 2014. Three thousand five hundred brochures will be printed and distributed both locally and to eight welcome centers across Iowa. The brochure is a publication of the Ottumwa Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Eligible activities include festivals, fundraisers, concerts, exhibits, and seminars. Examples of prior listings are the Bridge City BBQ, American Gothic Days, Wapello County Fair, Ottumwa Pro Balloon Races, 4-H Expo, Central Park Cinema, and Live After Five. Events must occur in Wapello County and be open to the public.
Event submissions can be completed via an online submission form (http://www.exploreottumwa.com/events/submit.php). It is a straight-forward process that takes less than five minutes. Activities can be submitted even if all details haven’t been determined.
The submission deadline is Monday, April 14, 2014 for inclusion in the summer brochure, however events can be submitted anytime for listing on the Ottumwa Area CVB’s website, ExploreOttumwa.com. The brochure deadline is so early to allow sufficient time for verifying, editing, designing, proofing, printing and distributing the piece.
In addition to the summer brochure and website, events will be promoted via the OACVB’s electronic newsletter Bravo Wapello County with more than 450 subscribers.
Summer Edgington coordinates the collection of information on behalf of the OACVB and can respond to any questions regarding the spring event brochure. She can be reached at 641.799.2801 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
